How to Buy Windows 8

17/11/2012 19:46

Windows 8 is available in two editions for consumers: Windows 8 and Windows 8 Pro.  32 and 64-bit versions are available but I highly recommend installing the 64-bit version. Unless you have some very old hardware, skip the 32-bit versions.

There are a few different ways to buy Windows 8.  If you are lucky, you may qualify for a $14.99 upgrade. Otherwise you have the upgrade and full version options.

Windows 8 Upgrade Offer

If you purchased a Windows PC between June 2, 2012 and January 31, 2013 you qualify for a upgrade to Windows 8 Pro for only $14.99.

Windows 8 System Builder Editions

The OEM versions, now called system builder, are also a good idea when the promotional pricing of $64 expires or if you need the full version of Windows 8.  You will be able to buy the Windows 8 edition for $99 and the Pro edition for $139.
